Lucía

I’m Lucía! I’m originally from Málaga, in the south of Spain, and languages have always been a huge part of my life. My love for them led me to study Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada, specialising in English and French. I also had the opportunity to live in Ireland as part of my degree, which made me fall even more in love with learning languages and experiencing different cultures.

After graduating, I realised that what I enjoyed most was sharing that passion with other people, so I decided to move into teaching. I went on to complete a Master’s in Teaching and another Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.

Since moving to the UK, I’ve worked in secondary education teaching Spanish in different roles, from starting as a Spanish Language Assistant to becoming a Spanish teacher. I love helping students feel confident using the language and showing them that learning Spanish is about much more than memorising vocabulary and grammar — it’s also about discovering a new culture and finding a new way to communicate with people.

As someone who has spent years learning languages myself, I know how challenging (and rewarding!) the process can be, and I try to bring that experience into my lessons by making them friendly, engaging and enjoyable.
